Heavenly Lake

Heavenly Lake is a moraine lake at the northern foot of Bogda Peak, the main peak of Bogda Mountain in the eastern section of Tianshan Mountains. It is located 30 kilometers south of Fukang City, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang, China, and 97 kilometers away from Urumqi City.

Heavenly Lake is a must-see place on Xinjiang tours and one of the famous site along the Silk Road.

Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring

Located 5 kilometers south of Dunhuang City, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring is one of the five most beautiful deserts in China and a global geopark. Here, sand and water coexist in the desert, a natural wonder along the Silk Road.

Mogao Grottoes

In 366AD, a monk began to excavate grottoes on the cliffs at the eastern foot of Mingsha Mountain in southeast Dunhuang. Later generations continued to excavate Grottoes, which became the famous Mogao Grottoes.

The Mogao Grottoes, known as the most valuable cultural discovery of the 20th century and the “Louvre of the East”, are famous for their exquisite murals and statues.

Zhangye Rainbow Mountain

Zhangye Danxia, one of the seven most beautiful Danxia in China, is the most typical Danxia landform on the Silk Road. It was formed in the arid regions of northern China. Known as China’s rainbow mountain, it is characterised by a dry climate, little flora, and a more menacing reddish-brown and vermilion appearance.

Jiayuguan Pass

Jiayuguan Pass is at the west end of the famous Great Wall. Jiayuguan, a significant Silk Road town, combines city life with military defence.The Great Wall, the tower, the battlements and the beacons are all historic sites. Walking in the Guan city, as if you travel through time.

Xinjiang Stone Castle

Xinjiang Stone Castle was the meeting point of the middle and southern routes of the ancient Silk Road, where several passages leading to the Pamir Plateau from Kashgar, Shache, Injisha and Yecheng converged. The castle was built on a steep hill, and is a well-known old city site on the ancient road in Xinjiang.

The ancient city of Loulan

Situated west of Lop Nur in Xinjiang, the renowned historic city of Loulan holds a crucial position on the ancient Silk Road and serves as the centre of the Western regions.Established in 176 BC, the ancient state of Loulan abruptly and unexplainably vanished in 630 AD, leaving behind nothing but desert ruins.

Kanas Lake

The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region’s Altay Prefecture is home to Kanas, which translates to “beautiful and mysterious lake” in Mongolian. In addition to Genghis Khan’s West Expedition army site, the Kanas Lake scenic area features mountains, rivers, woods, lakes, grasslands, and other exotic natural settings. It also features ancient rock drawings and distinctive folk customs of the Mongolian Tuva people.
